On May 7, 2025, The Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) attended a forum entitled “Towards A Faith That Does Justice: A Solidarity Forum For The Sambilog-Balik Bugsuk Movement” held in the Loyola School of Theology, Ateneo De Manila University.
CEAP Executive Director Narcy Ador Dionisio, Advocacy and Public Engagement Officer Ms. Charina Claustro, and Advocacy and Public Engagement Assistants Ms. Leslie Villanueva and Ms. Grace Donieto in solidarity joined the forum to hear about the issues surrounding the indigenous community in Bugsuk, Palawan.
The key issues raised were the call of the Bugsuk community to help resolve the issue of unlawful land grabbing, the presence of armed guards in indigenous lands, and how these affect the community's livelihood, daily lives, and even the environment.
