CEAP National Basic Education Commission (NBEC) Conducts Regional Representatives Assembly Meeting

The Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines: National Basic Education Commission (NBEC) conducted its Regional Representatives meeting last July 29, 2021. The CEAP National Secretariat organized the meeting and invited different Regional representatives from Regions 1 to 12, the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

 

The Committee also invited Dr. Joyce D.R. Andaya, Director, Bureau of Curriculum Development, Department of Education, to provide updates concerning Basic Education. The announcements made were the following: First, the Department of Education released a memorandum last June 23, 2021, stating that school openings of private schools and non-DepEd public schools will be allowed for the school year 2021 to 2022. Second, the President approved the opening day of the school year 2021 to 2022 will be on September 13, 2021.

 

Sr. Felicitas V. Bernardo, SPC, NBEC Chairperson, provided updates on the recently conducted 2021 NBEC Training Series. Sr. Bernardo also offered to cascade the materials and modules used as reference. Furthermore, Regional representatives were given the opportunity to share updates on the situation of the BEs in their regions. The representatives discussed developments in their regions, how their schools are faring with flexible learning, and what challenges they continue to face under the extraordinary situation context of the pandemic.
