CEAP and Ateneo de Manila University Exploring Collaborative Undertakings for Catholic Education

On October 22, 2024, the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) leadership initiated a courtesy visit to Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) to discuss potential collaborations to enhance Catholic education in the country. 
 
The ADMU  was led by  Fr. Roberto C. Yap, SJ, ADMU President, Dr. Benjamin Gerardo T. Tolosa, Jr., Vice President for Mission Integration, Dr. Maria Luz C. Vilches, Vice President for Higher Education, and Fr. Francis D. Alvarez, SJ, Chair of the Department of Catholic Educational Philosophy and Practice. The CEAP delegation was composed of Fr. Albert N. Delvo, CEAP President and COCOPEA Chairperson, Fr. Glenn William Relucio, CEAP-NCR Chairperson, Fr. Raymond Joseph L. Arre, CEAP Superintendents Chairperson, Atty. John R. Jacome, COCOPEA Executive Director, Ms. Charina A. Claustro, CEAP National Advocacy Coordinator, and Leslie Villanueva, CEAP National Advocacy Assistant.
 
Key topics of discussion included collaborative initiatives for Catholic education, evangelization efforts, and support for small Catholic schools, alongside new and effective methods of engagement. They also discussed efforts on the Kapatirang Kamagong initiative, the establishment of scholarships for underprivileged students, and the Adopt-a-School Program.
 
Other related topics were also discussed such as teacher education and training, and advocacy and linkages with legislative and educational bodies. The meeting concluded with a commitment from both parties to pursue collaborative projects, reinforcing their shared dedication to uplifting and empowering Catholic educational institutions across the Philippines.
